Let us take the stress out of getting your first mortgage...

Buying your first home is an emotional rollercoaster. You think you've done all the hard work saving for your deposit - now you just apply for a mortgage and start house shopping right? Not so fast!

Mortgage companies need to know that you can afford your monthly mortgage payments. Then there's the legal paperwork, surveys, building insurance, credit checks and a lot of other hoops to jump through before you finally get the keys to your dream home.

We specialise in taking the hassle out of buying your first home, offering help and support every step of the way.

From getting your Agreement in Principle, completing your mortgage application and getting a mortgage offer to liaising with your estate agent and solicitors - we do all the leg work so you don't have to!

Getting a First-Time Buyer Mortgage

Before you secure your first-time buyer mortgage, you'll want to get an Agreement in Principle. This is what an Estate Agent will want to see before you put an offer in on your dream home. An AiP tells the Agent that you can afford the monthly mortgage payments up to the value of the property you want to buy.

Getting an Agreement in Principle is just the first step in the process, as then mortgage lenders will want more detailed information about you, your circumstances and the property you want to buy.

We'll work with you to understand your needs and affordability to help us recommend the best first-time buyer mortgage for you. We'll then arrange your Agreement in Principle so, when the time comes, you'll be free to make an offer on your first home.

How Much Can I Borrow?

Working out how much you can borrow for your first mortgage is only part of the puzzle - working out what you can really afford is even more important.

When we first start working with you, our mortgage advisors will ask you to complete an Affordability Questionnaire where it's important to be honest about your income and outgoings. This budget planner will help us to understand your monthly commitments and make sure that we recommend the right mortgage for you.

For a rough idea of how much you could borrow for your first mortgage take a look at our mortgage calculators or speak to us for a more accurate affordability assessment.
